
10 Ukrainian organic fruit and berry processing companies to participate in a business tour to the Netherlands

The Ukrainian Berries Association, in cooperation with the State Institution “Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office” and the Organic Initiative Public Union, has selected 10 Ukrainian organic fruit and berry processing companies to participate in a business tour to the Netherlands.
From May 20 to 23, 2025, a business mission to the Kingdom of the Netherlands will be held for Ukrainian business support organizations and exporters of organic berry products (small and medium-sized enterprises).
The mission program includes:
- attending the PLMA’s World of Private Label International Trade Show, May 20–21 in Amsterdam;
- visiting leading Dutch enterprises specializing in berry processing and freezing;
- establishing direct contacts with European partners and learning about modern storage and logistics technologies.
For participation in the business mission to the Netherlands, 10 small and medium-sized enterprises* from 7 regions of Ukraine, which are exporters of organic berry products, were selected on a competitive basis:

In addition to exporters of organic berry products, the business tour to the Netherlands includes 6 representatives from 3 business support organizations, namely the "Ukrainian Berries" Association, the state institution "Office for Entrepreneurship and Export Development", and the public union "Organic Initiative", as well as representatives from the technical assistance programs QFTP and SIPPO.

The business tour is organised by the Ukrainian Berries Association, the State Institution “Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office” (EEPO, Ukraine), and the Organic Initiative Public Union with the support of Switzerland within the framework of three programmes:
- Swiss Import Promotion Programme (SIPPO)implemented by Swisscontact,
- Global Quality and Standards Programme Ukraine (Phase II) implemented by UNIDO (specialized agency of the United Nations),
- Swiss-Ukrainian Programme “Higher Value Added Trade from the Organic and Dairy Sector in Ukraine” (QFTP) implemented by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL, Switzerland) in partnership with SAFOSO AG (Switzerland).

For many years, the Netherlands has consistently been a leading importer of organic products from Ukraine. According to data from a study of the organic market in Ukraine in 2023, Ukraine exported 68,100 tons of organic products to the Netherlands worth €34.3 million, including 490 tons of organic berries (frozen, fresh, and as puree) worth approximately €1.4 million. The Ukrainian organic berry products exported to the Netherlands include: blueberries, blackberries, sloe, blueberries (highbush), cranberries, elderberries, raspberries, and strawberries. In 2024, the export volume of organic berries from Ukraine to the Netherlands amounted to 462 tons worth approximately €794,000 (source: Organic Standard).
