Hortifrut makes the first shipment of fresh Peruvian blueberries to Taiwan

Taiwan is a market with more than 23 million potential consumers; a highly relevant destination for Hortifrut that is being added to others like the United States, Europe, China and the United Kingdom, among others. SENASA's work to allow the export of blueberries from Peru required a series of previous steps, including the quarantine of blueberry plants, the sanitary and phytosanitary certification of production places and packing plants, or the use of integrated pest management. All these are necessary to comply with the requirements and protocols established by the national regulations and the NPPOs (National Phytosanitary Protection Organizations) of the importing country.

The first shipment of fresh blueberries, with 11.7 tons of the Ventura variety, started its journey by sea on Friday, October 2, from the port of Paita, located in the city of Piura, in northern Peru. Its arrival at the port of Keelung is scheduled for the 29th.
