The Development Director of the Ukrainian Berries Association, Mariya Lakeyeva, visited Japan as part of a Ukrainian delegation.
This working visit focused on cooperation between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries of Japan.
For our Association, it was important to get acquainted with the latest technologies, learn from Japanese experience, and pass this knowledge to Ukrainian producers and processors. Specifically, Mariya Lakeyeva visited the Moriya Plant. This plant is part of the company "Mayekawa MYCOM," which is one of the world leaders in the production of advanced and reliable industrial refrigeration equipment.
“The specialists of this enterprise demonstrated their cooling technologies, which are unique in the market because they allow berries to be stored without losing quality for at least two weeks. Thanks to this, producers can significantly extend the period for selling fresh berries,” says Mariya Lakeyeva.
The Development Director of the Ukrainian Berries Association also visited the Fujita Technology Center, a research institute where scientists develop technological solutions to improve construction quality and optimize work processes.
The Ukrainian delegation was shown assistant robots used in construction, the latest design technologies, and visualizations of future buildings.
“We also familiarized ourselves with projects aimed at minimizing the consequences of natural disasters. Some solutions are still in the testing stage, but I hope that these technologies will soon appear in the Ukrainian market,” shares Mariya Lakeyeva about her impressions of the trip.
As part of the working mission, the Ukrainian representatives will also visit a cooperative specializing in sweet potato cultivation and hold a meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries of Japan to discuss further cooperation between the countries.
