This report includes:
■ May weather conditions in Ukraine: Warmer and significantly drier than in 2025, with 59 mm of precipitation compared to 93 mm last year. A dry first ten-day period, rainfall on 10–13 May, and the last localized frosts in mid-May. Temperature and moisture maps included.
■ Climate pressure on competitors: Dry weather in Poland and Serbia. The Serbian Berry Association expects the raspberry harvest to reach only up to 15,000 tonnes—the lowest level in many years—contributing to a supply shortage on the EU market.
■ Market context and media overview: Industry estimates of losses caused by the April frosts, cooperation among Ukrainian blueberry producers to facilitate centralized exports, and a stable frozen blueberry market in the EU.
■ May price correction: Domestic strawberry prices fell from a peak of UAH 330/kg to around UAH 160/kg, while fresh blueberry prices dropped to UAH 850/kg by the end of the month for the first time this season.
■ Frozen berry export dynamics: Raspberry export revenue reached a record €223.8 million during the first ten months of the season, while frozen bilberry exports remained in deep deficit and frozen blueberry exports continued to grow (Eurostat data through March 2026).
■ June weather outlook and international opportunities: No significant frost risks are expected. Upcoming events, including GreenTech Amsterdam and Asia Fruit Logistica, offer valuable opportunities for planning export partnerships.
